NMSU police reminder of commencement bag policy

New Mexico State University police gave a reminder to attendees of all of the school's commencement ceremonies.

All attendees who wish to bring a bag to the Pan American Center will need to have a clear one. Non-clear bags are prohibited from its commencement ceremonies.

Approved bags can be clear plastic, vinyl or polyvinyl chloride, also known as PVC bags. One-gallon plastic freezer bags are also allowed into the facility.

The only approved non-clear bags are small clutches about the size of a hand. Below is a complete list of the banned items at the event center.

The bag policy reminder comes one day after a shooting at the Albuquerque Convention Center during a graduation ceremony.
