MLB bag policies: Which bags are permitted at the ballpark?

Heading to the ballpark this spring? Plan accordingly. For security reasons, every stadium has a bag policy.

Major League Baseball does not really have a uniform bag policy in place. Those policies are left to the individual ballparks, but most follow the same principles.

For example, most MLB ballparks allow small bags the size of a clutch (5-by-9-by-2 inches).

Anything larger but does not exceed a maximum size (usually 16-by-16-by-8 inches) – needs to be in clear plastic, vinyl or PVC.

Backpacks of any kind are typically prohibited, even if they are clear.

But there are plenty of exceptions across the 30 teams, with some not allowing bags larger than a clutch at all. So it's best to reference the below team-by-team policies before making any purchasing decision.
