‘My versatile £33 River Island bag looks just like the £425 Diesel ‘it’ bag

Having bought the River Island designer handbag dupe for herself, a Fashion and Beauty editor says its the 'best £33 she's ever spent'

If you’re a fashion lover you know there's a new shoulder bag in town - but it comes at a price. Designer brand Diesel has released what is most definitely the new ‘it’ bag of the season which would set you back £425.

There is no denying that Diesel's 1dr shoulder bag is a stunning, classic, Y2K style purse that you could take anywhere, but the price tag is hefty.

However, on a shopping excursion to River Island's new Trafford Centre store, the MEN's Fashion and Beauty Editor Rachel Pugh spotted a Diesel dupe in store for just £33 - she loved it so much, she bought one for herself.

Rachel told me: "I’ve been eyeing up the Diesel 1dr bag in black for months. But with a £425 price tag and a cost of living crisis to navigate through, there's no way I could justify spending that much.

"Then I found the perfect dupe in River Island for £33. To say I was over the moon would be an understatement.

"I snapped it up in seconds, and have been using it ever since. It pairs perfectly with cargo pants and a pair of Nike dunks, but can equally be worn with a slinky black dress and heels for a night out. Best £33 I’ve ever spent."

The Black Enamel Logo Shoulder Bag from River Island is nearly identical to the designer version, despite the obvious difference in brand logos.

It's just as versatile as the Diesel designer bag, as it is nearly impossible to find an outfit this shoulder bag wouldn't complete. It's also available in white.

While the designer version is made from Nappa leather and River Island's is 100% PVC - at a fraction of the price of the designer label, you can't go wrong with the stylish, chic shoulder bag.

Alternatively, if distinctive logos are not your bag, the Skinnydip Black Faux Croc Shoulder Bag from New Look costs just £30 and is described as a "timeless pick."
